Shower trays for campers – overview

Plastic shower trays become brittle over time due to vehicle vibrations and temperature fluctuations and develop hairline cracks. Our aluminium shower tray is rust-free, hand-welded, powder-coated and considerably more robust than any plastic alternative. Lighter than stainless steel, more durable than plastic or GRP.

The shower tray is the basis of every shower in a camper: the shower cubicle or shower box, wall cladding and drain are built on top of it. The watertight connection is handled by the RK-Reich siphon.

Plastic shower trays in campers and motorhomes become brittle over time due to vehicle vibrations, temperature fluctuations and material fatigue, and develop fine hairline cracks. This is a well-known problem, especially with older vehicles or after intensive use. Our custom-made aluminium shower tray was developed precisely to solve this problem permanently.

First you should measure your motorhome wet room precisely. You should always choose the shower tray dimensions slightly smaller to avoid problems when installing the camper shower. It doesn't come down to the millimetre!

Aluminium is the ideal choice for the camper. Lighter than stainless steel, more robust than plastic and considerably more durable than GRP. Stainless steel is also high-quality, but significantly heavier, which is a relevant disadvantage in a camper. Plastic is cheap, but as described tends to crack. Our aluminium shower tray offers the best ratio of weight, robustness and durability.

Currently our custom-made shower trays are designed exclusively for the drain siphons from RK-Reich and Dometic. These are available in 3 different drain variants: siphon with straight, angled and double drain.

Our aluminium shower trays are hand-welded, powder-coated and specially developed for continuous use in the vehicle interior. Every weld seam is carefully set by hand and tested for watertightness. The result is a shower tray that stays permanently stable even with daily use in the wet area of the camper or motorhome.
