How much carpet felt do I need for my vehicle?

Before you determine the material requirements, you should clarify which areas are to be felted. The entire interior? Roof lining? Plastic parts? Small components? Driver's cab? Does your vehicle have windows or roof hatches? The standard width for our carpet felt is 2m. For our wool felt it is approx. 1.40m.

Measure the cladding area and calculate additional material for deep-drawing the corners, edges and curves. Also take into account the additional material required for folding over the felt cladding for small or plastic elements, as well as for waste and overhang.

That's why you should order a sample package

It's worth ordering our sample package to get a taste of the different materials and colors. This will help you make the best choice for your felt covering in your motorhome. Our entire felt range is 4-way stretchable and guarantees easy processing even with difficult edges and curves.

How to properly glue camper felt trim

For optimal adhesion, spray the car felt and the area to be glued with the spray adhesive. We recommend using 1 can of spray adhesive per 1.5 m² of area. This value depends on the individual spraying behavior. Please make sure that the areas to be felted are dry, clean, dust-free and free of grease. Our stretch felt can be glued together without any problems. The transitions between the individual pieces of felt become invisible when pressed together at the meeting point. You can also use tailor's chalk to mark out the areas to be glued. This can then be easily knocked out without leaving any residue.

Tools for processing your felt paneling in your motorhome

In addition to the recommended spray adhesive and common household tools such as a cleaning cloth, folding rule or tape measure, you will need a few tools that we have already put together for you in a kit. The DIY KIT contains a special solvent for removing adhesive residue, a cutter knife and cleaver blades for clean and precise cutting, and tailor's chalk, which is used to indicate and mark the cutting lines. This can be completely knocked out afterwards. You can put together the kit individually according to your wishes and needs.

Here you can find a detailed list of materials with all the tools you need and step-by-step instructions.

Will creases occur when you fold carpet felt?

We ship our camper felt using a special folding technique as a cheap parcel postage. This saves you the high costs of the bulky goods surcharge when shipping in rolls. For high-quality premium carpet felt, creases are no problem at all. Our stretch felt is stretchy, pressure-elastic and durable, so that hardly any creases occur. Multiple tests have confirmed that no residue is visible in the end result.
